Path of Exile can be intimidating for new players due to the fact that a certain level of understanding of game mechanics is demanded of players who wish to survive. Thankfully, the developers pride themselves on succinct and consistent tooltips, which make it easier for players to plan ahead or predict the success of certain strategies. I'm assuming you don't have any extra aura effectiveness too, and I'm going to completely disregard crit and accuracy, as they are a bit out of the scope of this. I'm also going to round down at the end of each calculation - exactly where PoE does its rounding is a bit hazy, so. Additionally, 'tooltip DPS' generally refers to the number displayed on the in-game tooltip. This number is calculated in a relatively simplistic fashion, by summing all types of damage dealt by a skill and multiplying by attack/cast speed; it does not take into account other effects which may boost a player's effective damage, like elemental penetration, debuffs placed on enemies, conditional.
How Is Poison Dmg Calculated Poe In Minecraft
I am currently running a fenzy tornado shot archer and upon finding me nice pair of those: I decided to try to spec a little bit into poison and try it out.At first i didnt rly see much difference, but upon fighting some rare mbos with extra energyshield , i discovered that sometimes they were aleary missing a good chunk of health(like 30%) when the ES was depleted. Here is what i calculated myself: 20% base damage over 2 seconds. tree: https://www.pathofexile.com/passive-skill-tree/AAAAAwIAAdEDHgUtBbUGIwZwDPIRLxR1GNsZ_hsBG60fQSFgIXYj9iSdJP0qCysKLIUwcTB8Mfo2PTnUOkI-z0CgQzFEnkt4TZJOn1FHU7tU_lVLVvpaGluvXfJeRWHiYlpirGyMcFJ08XXLdvd313p_eu97FH11fyuGzonTjDaNfY1-jb-QCpLzlLidqqCfoSKhpKJApcun1K_rtMW1SL3mvqe_1cEzwuzEos2Y037UI9aK3ajfmOHb51To1upi6xTrY_T4-WP66_66_sj_3g?accountName=SlayerII&characterName=SlayerII_nochnarcher 157%projectile damage from tree 20%chaos damage from tree 125%poison damage from tree 16% fire golem= 318% total increase of poison damage. 20%*(1+3.18)=83.6% 9 frenzy charges= 36% MORE damage 80.4%*(1+0.36)=113.696 total Poison damage therefore is 113.5% of my phys and chaos damage. TS: ' My Current options are: buy drillneck, get extra pierce from tree(and 20% proj damage) 5link and use pierce, giving me a total of 120% double diping projectile dmg(and increase my poison dmg to 146%), not to mention aking my secodnary projectiles pierce aswell. Use some of the dot nodes(the duelist one sounds very apealing, 70% extra dot and 20% extra duration) (might take some time, not done in the shadow tree yet) In case u interested or wanna help, here is the rest of my gear: | Posted by SlayerII on Jan 3, 2016, 8:33:40 AM |
Your calculation seems correct. Snakebite is a very good option if you can keep your frenzy charges up, which is not that hard on a bow character. I think you already have enough poison scaling for speccing into more damage over time to not make much sense. You're better off speccing into more double-sipping scaling or simply increasing your base damage through crit, most likely. You're not yet utilizing your jewel slots. You could get some with %projectile damage for some more double scaling and some other useful stats (like crit). The slots on the Ranger and Duelist areas, and the one above Acro are all good options. I'd definitely drop the 2x 15% bow phys for a good jewel. And probably Weapon Artistry too, and connect through the evasion wheel. Another option is to go into the Shadow start. Those nodes will also increase your frontload and your dot damage simultaneously. I don't think you really need Drillneck, you can probably get better scaling from a good crit quiver. You could also easily replace your talisman with something with a crit implicit or global %increased damage. | Posted by Zed_ on Jan 3, 2016, 9:01:10 AM |
I'm not an expert on bow builds, having only a few days ago constructed my first, but looking at your build I can't help wondering whether there's any particular reason that you are not using Deadly Draw, as in this slightly modified build that uses the name number of skill points. Even jewels at 2-3 skill points each struggle to meet 10% accuracy, 21% attack speed, 20% projectile speed, and 52% damage for a cost of 5 skill points, and you are currently spending points that aren't necessary for tracking purposes and can surely be spent more profitably. -10 STR, -10 DEX +10% accuracy rating +22% attack speed with bows -30% projectile damage -16% physical damage with attacks +22% physical damage with bows = -24% physical damage, -30% other damage -10% projectile speed +20% arrow speed = +10% projectile speed of your arrows Is it because you prefer big hits over considerably more frequent slightly smaller hits (which makes no difference for poison, but does make a difference for stunning), are concerned about mana issues, or? (Also wondering at you only having 83% life allocated at 101 points; Is this normal in bow builds?) Scionic Flametank 3.2: The classic ES-CI-ZO-GR regeneration tank is back in business, stronger than ever before with 50-60% ES/s recovery during most fights due to creative use of regeneration, leech, and recovery mechanics https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1271604 | Posted by Pi2rEpsilon on Jan 3, 2016, 11:09:19 AM |
I already changed my build alot , so its currently a little messy and there are defintly some improvements, however i gonna wait till i have a decent amount of refund points before i optimize it. I dont think i need deadly draw, with 9 frenzy charges i already have a ton of attack speed and i dont need the accurity with my current bow.Maby when i get to my 90ties and i have a different bow. For the life, well, i rly need more but i can handle for the moment. I can dodge very well with my movenmentspeed, so unless i get outright onshot(happens from time to time with 2.7k hp), im fine.I wouldnt recomend for new players to go for such low life tough^^ ' Have already tried hat, but cant find anything that actully makes a big difference, also i need the mana leech for the moment... For jewels, i defintly goign to get some soonish, i simply havent got to many expireince with them so i skipped them for the most part while lvling Last edited by SlayerII on Jan 3, 2016, 11:40:00 AM | Posted by SlayerII on Jan 3, 2016, 11:35:37 AM |
